Built for modded minecraft

CPU that keeps up

Modded servers are single-thread bound. We run high-clock CPUs and leave headroom on every node so chunk generation and tick times stay sane.

NVMe for chunk loads

Big packs write constantly. NVMe storage keeps world saves and chunk loading from stalling your tick loop.

Resize any time

Started on 8 GB and the pack outgrew it? Slide up to 16 GB, approve the prorated quote, and keep your world.

DDoS protection

Always-on filtering so a grudge from an SMP raid does not take your community offline.

Modpack help included

Add managed support and we install packs, resolve mod conflicts, and tune JVM flags for your pack.

Full panel access

Pterodactyl console, file manager, SFTP, scheduled tasks, backups, and subusers for your admin team.

Pricing is $1.25 per GB of RAM per month, $1.50 with enhanced protection, and $2.00 with managed technician help. CPU cores and NVMe storage scale automatically with RAM. Round up if your pack ships more than 150 mods or you plan on pregenerating a large world border.

Getting a modded server running

  1. Pick your RAM size from the table above — round up if your pack is over 150 mods.
  2. Choose Forge, NeoForge, or Fabric and the matching Minecraft version at order time.
  3. Install the pack: search the pack ID in the egg settings, or upload the server pack zip through SFTP. Our modpack guide walks through both.
  4. Set your JVM flags and start the server — first boot generates the world and downloads mod dependencies.
  5. Add your moderators as panel subusers, schedule daily backups, and share your free subdomain with players.

Tuning a heavy pack

Most modded lag reports come down to three things: a mod that ticks every entity, chunk loaders left running in an abandoned base, and default garbage collection settings. Fixing the first two usually recovers more TPS than adding memory.

We ship sensible Aikar-style JVM flags by default and expose them in the panel startup tab so you can adjust heap size, GC pauses, and region file settings without a ticket.

For long-lived worlds, pregenerate your border with Chunky during off-hours, keep view distance around 8, and prune old dimension files before a major pack update. Managed customers can hand us a spark profile and we'll do the analysis.

Questions, answered

How much RAM does a modded Minecraft server need?

A light Fabric pack with 5 players runs comfortably on 4 GB. Mid-size Forge packs such as All the Mods or Create-based packs want 8-12 GB. Kitchen-sink packs with 300+ mods and 10 or more players should start at 16 GB.

Can I upload my own modpack?

Yes. Upload a CurseForge or Modrinth pack zip through the panel file manager or SFTP, or point the egg at a pack ID and version and it installs on first boot.

Do you support Forge, NeoForge and Fabric?

All three, plus Paper and Purpur for plugin servers and hybrid loaders where the pack requires them. You pick the loader and version at order time and can change it later from the panel.

What happens when a pack updates?

You can update in place from the panel, and we recommend taking a backup first. Managed customers can open a ticket and we will run the update and fix mod conflicts for you.

Can I add more RAM later?

Yes. Move the RAM slider in your control panel, approve the prorated quote, and the new limits apply to your existing world without a rebuild.

Why is my modded server lagging even with lots of RAM?

Modded Minecraft is mostly single-thread bound, so tick lag usually comes from CPU-heavy mods, chunk loaders, or badly tuned garbage collection rather than memory. We run high-clock CPUs, and managed customers get JVM flag tuning and a spark profile to find the offending mod.

Do you support proxies and multi-server networks?

Yes. Run Velocity or BungeeCord alongside your modded backends, link them over the internal network, and manage every node from the same billing account.

Can my admins get panel access without my billing details?

Yes. Pterodactyl subusers get scoped console, file, and backup permissions. Billing, invoices, and payment methods stay in your client area only.
