1. Run the onboarding wizard
Open the onboarding wizard and pick the services you need. The wizard sizes RAM, CPU, and storage from your player count and mod usage, and shows the monthly total before you commit to anything.
2. Create your billing account
At the account step you sign in or register with an email and password. Use the same email address as your Pterodactyl panel account if you already have one — the billing panel links the two automatically on first sign-in.
Confirm your email address before ordering. Provisioning is gated on a confirmed email so that server ownership can always be proven.
3. Pay the first invoice
Placing an order generates an invoice immediately. Pay it with a card through Stripe or with PayPal, or apply account credit if you have a balance. Enabling auto-pay at checkout saves the card for future renewals.
4. Wait for provisioning
Once payment is confirmed the panel creates your server automatically — usually within a minute. It appears under Services in the client area with its address, allocated port, and current status.
5. Connect and configure
Open the server from Services to reach the Pterodactyl console. Start it once to generate the world and configuration files, then edit server.properties, upload plugins or a modpack, and add yourself as an operator. The Minecraft guide covers each of those.
Troubleshooting your first hour
Server will not start? Check the console for a version mismatch between your client and the server jar. Cannot connect? Confirm you are using the address and port shown in Services, not just the IP. Anything else — open a ticket from the client area and include the console output.
