Built for counter-strike 2

Clock speed first

Source 2 servers care about single-core frequency. Our high-clock CPUs keep simulation smooth even during a full-buy retake round.

Low-latency routing

Optimised network paths keep ping and jitter down, which is what players actually feel in a sub-tick engine.

Workshop maps

Point the server at a workshop collection and it downloads and rotates community maps automatically on boot.

NVMe storage

Fast map loading and demo recording, with plenty of disk for workshop content and match demos you keep for review.

DDoS protection

Match servers get attacked mid-series. Always-on filtering plus an enhanced tier with priority support during incidents.

Plugin & config help

Managed customers get Metamod, CounterStrikeSharp, MatchZy-style match configs, and admin permissions set up for them.

CS2 is CPU and network bound far more than memory bound, so a modest RAM tier goes a long way. Step up a size if you run many plugins, large workshop collections, or record demos for every match.

Getting your CS2 server online

  1. Pick a size from the table — most competitive servers are fine on the smallest tier.
  2. Generate a Steam game server login token (GSLT) for CS2 and add it to your startup variables.
  3. Set your game mode, map or workshop collection ID, and slot count in the startup tab.
  4. Install Metamod:Source and CounterStrikeSharp, then upload your plugins and admins.json.
  5. Upload your match, practice, and retake configs and exec them from the console — the control panel guide explains startup variables and scheduled tasks.

What actually makes a CS2 server feel good

Sub-tick changed the conversation: the old 128-tick marketing line matters less than consistent frame time on the server and a clean network path to your players. We prioritise both over headline numbers.

Keep plugin count lean on match servers. Every extra hook runs inside the game loop, and a single badly written plugin can add more variance than any hardware upgrade will remove.

For leagues and scrims, run a dedicated match server with demo recording enabled and a separate practice server for nade lineups — both fit comfortably in the smallest tiers, and one billing account manages them together.

Questions, answered

How much RAM does a CS2 server need?

CS2 is light on memory compared to survival games. A 10-slot competitive server is happy on 4 GB, a 24-slot community server with plugins on 8 GB, and larger retake or surf servers on 12 GB.

Do you support plugins?

Yes. Metamod:Source with CounterStrikeSharp is the current standard for CS2 plugins — install both from the file manager and drop your plugin folders in place.

Can I run workshop maps?

Yes. Set your workshop collection or map IDs in the startup variables and the server downloads them on boot, so surf, retake, and community map rotations work out of the box.

What about tick rate?

CS2 uses sub-tick updates, so raw tick rate matters less than it did in CS:GO. What still matters is CPU clock speed and network latency — both of which we optimise for.

Do I need a Steam game server token?

For a public server, yes. Generate a free GSLT for CS2 in the Steam game server account page and paste it into your startup variables.

Can I run practice, retake or surf configs?

Yes. Upload your cfg files, set the exec in your startup command, and switch modes from the console — many communities run multiple servers under one billing account for this.

How do I add admins?

CounterStrikeSharp handles in-game admin permissions via its admins.json, and panel subusers give staff scoped console and file access without your billing details.

Is DDoS protection included?

Yes. Every node has always-on layer 3/4 filtering, with an enhanced tier and priority support for competitive communities and match servers.
